no anime is not dying, it's just become popular. the difference, however small,
does exist.
anime is going mainstream and taking quality down to the poorly drawn levels the
american public is used of. anime are coming out with no regaurd for keeping
with the original styling and taste.
"ameri-me" ( anime styled american animation ) is being pumped out
with horrible voice acting, low quality artwork, and marketed towards
children.
drek. pure and simple. the frelling suits see that anime is becoming a cash cow
and they churn out un-original, bland "cartoons" with japanese
stylings then market them with cheesey japanese songs ( whoes authenticity i
call into question, case in point; teen titans ) and try to hook kids too young
and easily addictted to loud repettetive shows with little more than second
grade dialog.
no anime isn't dying, nor is it dead. as long as the true otaku ( and devoutee
alike ) can come together and admirre anime that deserves it, anime will very
much stay alive.
more-over: nothing dies in japan! ( arcades are still popular over there after
all... )
i must admit that chibokko might be right, however, i would check into the nuku
nuku series, chobits, or hand maid may, try doing a google image search for
mecha and cat.
if you know where it's from, try contacting the author, they usually know where
they've seen their subjects.
looking through a list of anime ( directories, anipke, animenation, et cetera...
) for cat-girl, mecha, or other related terms. i've found artists who have
stopped drawing their old art, and recovered lost data ( via the way back
machine ) from just a watermark in an image i've downloaded from Kazaa.
it may take a while but don't give-up, it took me two weeks to get all of
skribblekid's old h-poll art.
i have two 120 gb. but there both full! i'm getting a 400 gb in a little while...
